This is no longer just a local dispute, Panama is under international observation. Coiba National Park, one of the most valuable marine ecosystems on the planet, is back in the spotlight of the World Heritage Committee. And in that review, the name Puerto Bar\u00fa appears.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is at stake is significant; the Panamanian State has been asked to reassess the project's environmental impact assessment, considering potential effects on the protected area. The concern is clear: sediments generated by dredging could drift offshore and approach Coiba.<\/span><\/p>\n
